Problem & context

Calls had to work on mid-tier phones and junk LTE. Dropped group calls weren't okay when the product promised reliability.

What we shipped

Native apps for 1:1 and group video/voice on WebRTC, a thin Node layer for signaling, and push so invites don't get lost. Tuned for mid-tier phones and rough LTE, not just lab Wi‑Fi.

How we approach delivery

Call setup and recovery for messy networks, less simultaneous work on group calls, tested on real networks, not just office Wi‑Fi.

Built for real-world use

Video calling isn't one toggle. It's flaky cell, backgrounding, and notifications that actually bring people back into the call.
